Biography

Chief Rollie W. Gackstetter was appointed Chief of Police in January of 2006. Chief Gackstetter has accumulated 30 years of law enforcement experience serving in the Pontiac Police Department, rising through the ranks from police cadet, sergeant, lieutenant, captain and Chief of Police.

Chief Gackstetter is committed to "Community Oriented Policing" philosophies which work to bring the community and the police together to solve neighborhood problems.

Chief Gackstetter has also worked as Security Director for the Pontiac Siverdome and a Corporate Pilot. Chief Gackstetter currently serves on a number of steering committees and boards in the law enforcement community a few are mentioned below:

  • Vice President of the Oakland County Association of Chiefs of Police
  • Board member Oakland Police Academy
  • Board member CLEMIS advisory board
  • Board member Oakland County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council
  • Oakland County Community Corrections
  • Oakland County Radio Oversight Committee
Chief Gackstetter is married with two children and presently lives in Davisburg.
