November 3, 2008

The Village of Holly Police Department would like to remind its residents and visitors that the annual Snow Season Parking ordinance goes into effect on November 15 until April 15.

During this time it is illegal to park on any street between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Parking between the curb and sidewalk, however, is permitted until April 15.

Those residents residing in or visiting the downtown area overnight during this period may park in the entire parking lot in Crapo Park on Martha Street as well as the parking lot west of the Village Offices commonly known as "parcel B".

Signage designates 11 parking spaces on the west side of the middle island in the municipal parking lot bounded by Civic Drive and Maple Street.

Signage also designates 9 parking spaces in the municipal parking lot commonly known as the Red Devil lot on the south side of Maple Street and the east side of S. Saginaw Street.

In the event that a vehicle is broken down in the street or a family gathering will need special parking attention, Citizens are urged to call the police department at (248) 634-8221 for special permission.

This IS NOT a weather permitting ordinance. Violators may be given a citation that carries a fine and is payable through the District Court.
