    Holly Police Officers Receive Awards

News & Events/Home

On Thursday, April 3, 2008, at a department meeting, Chief Rollie Gackstetter presented department awards to three Holly Police Officers for positive service they have recently provided the community.

Officer Gregory Rehmann, an 18-year veteran of the department, received a citation for Meritorious Service for his involvement in locating a large amount of property stolen from several cars during a crime spree in October of 2007. Because of Officer Rehmann's work, two suspects were positively identified and charged with the crimes.

Officer Anthony Modica, a 9-year veteran of the department, received a citation for Professional Excellence because he has received the MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Lifesaver Award for the past two years, due to being the top performer in the department's arresting of drunk drivers.

Officer Jose Garcia, a one-year veteran, received a letter of recommendation in connection with an incident that occurred in October of 2007. During a traffic stop, Garcia noted that the truck he stopped contained 19, five-gallon bottles of what appeared to be diesel fuel. He investigated further and determined that the diesel fuel had been stolen from a nearby business and that the person responsible for the theft was an illegal alien. The driver was charged criminally for the theft and later deported.
