Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP)

The Village of Holly Dispatch/PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) will be discontinued on August 1, 2013 at 7 a.m.. This will result in operational changes to our Police Department.


Our administrative business hours will change. The hours of operation will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Saturday.
We will provide all of our traditional support services to the public except dispatch related activities during those times.

Persons calling the police department for a dispatched run will be directed to call the Oakland County Dispatch Center at 248-858-4911. This will also include requests of the Fire and DPW services. Walk in citizens will be directed to the Dispatch call box located in the foyer of the police department. These steps are necessary as information related to the call has to be taken and entered into operational systems to generate calls for police (or other) service.

We are currently in the process of updating our phone system to accommodate these changes. In the interim calls to the police department will be answered by staff between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. After 4 p.m. until 8 a.m. and on Sundays all calls to the police department on the general phone number 248-634-8221 will be forwarded directly to the Oakland County Dispatch.

Citizens coming to the Police Department to obtain various Village Permits will have to do so during administrative business hours, or to the Village Offices Monday thru Thursday. Most permit forms can be found on-line on this site or the Village of Holly site. Unfettered access inside the police department will generally not be available at the close of the administrative hours of operation.

We will continue with gun registrations and SOR registration, however these will have to be accomplished during our new administrative hours. For gun registrations this could create a timeliness issue and you may want to consider processing your request through the Oakland County Sheriff�s Department.

Fingerprinting, PBT, bond payment and other related activities will still be addressed at the Police Department. You merely activate the call box in the foyer, state your purpose and an available officer will be dispatched to the Police Department to process the request.

There will be some later changes to departmental operations to maximize efficiency and these changes will be posted on our web site when implemented.
